TALENT : THE WAY OF LIFE
We are all born with different gifts when we come into this
world. With grandeur and without hostility, we share our gifts with the world,
inspiring confidence in the hearts of many. Legends in history books have
broken records and transformed themselves into franchises. We have learnt from
them that we should never fear to showcase our talents to the world if at all
we desire appreciation and glory from it.
From time immemorial, we have seen sportsmen and women rise
to the occasion when everything is at stake. An example is Giannis
Antentokoumpo, a basketball player who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks in the
NBA. His greatness does not require a microscope to be observed. He is the
epicenter of his team’s spirit and their gameplay is based on his movement. He
is a pillar of hope to the team because he plays every game with vigour and
undying patience. He is truly a legend in the making.
The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Most talented
sportsmen have gotten into scandals and have fallen short of their glory. Many
have hit rock bottom but only a few have managed to brush off their mundane
nature and bounce back to the prime leagues. Tiger Woods is an exceptional pro
in golf. At only the age of 18, he had more trophies more than other pro
golfers. His talent was illuminated at the world stage but fame dug too deep in
his head and his ego was propelled to the sky. As scandals piled up off the
golf course, his game on the golf course began to deteriorate. Finally, he had
pushed it too far and he got a career-threatening injury. The world began to
slowly forget about him. Long after he was sort-of forgotten, he returned from
the abyss of injury and won the golf Master’s competition. After a decade of
self-discovery, he returned to his passion and showed us hid prowess.
Life has different processes much like the careers of artists
and athletes. These people may face tragedy in a part of their lives where they
lose a loved one and this motivates them to become better and morph into
something greater. Joel Embiid lost his brother yet he did not let that weigh
him down. He turned the pain into a blessing of change which enabled him to be
dominant in the NBA. He currently plays for the Philadelphia 76-ers in the NBA.
His story has taught many that no matter how low you fall, you can come back
stronger. For every minor setback, there’s a major comeback.
